FireFly Metals’ Green Bay copper-gold project in Newfoundland now carries an after-tax NPV of A$2.2 billion (C$2.1 billion) at a 7% discount rate and a 42% IRR, with initial capital of A$513 million, giving more than four times NPV-to-capex leverage and planned throughput of 1.8 million tonnes per year over 32 years. Updated measured and indicated resources stand at 60.2 million tonnes grading 1.9% Cu, 0.5 g/t Au and 4.2 g/t Ag, containing 1.1 million tonnes Cu, 908,000 oz Au and 8.1 million oz Ag after 69,539 metres of underground drilling. A feasibility study is targeted for Q1 2027, with a final investment decision in H2 2027 and first concentrate potentially in mid-2029, backed by a proposed A$180 million equity raise split between an ASX institutional placement and a Canadian bought deal.

Waratah Minerals has extended the Consols gold system at its Spur project in New South Wales by 75m to the east and down-plunge, while identifying a new shallow high-grade zone. Step-out hole SPD074 intersected 12.7m at 1.35g/t gold from 44m downhole, defining a near-surface target with open extensions. For mine planners and geotechnical teams, the shallow geometry and incremental strike extension suggest potential for low-strip open-pit designs and simplified access for infill drilling and geotechnical characterisation.

Horizon Gold has confirmed an 800m southern extension to gold mineralisation at the Howards deposit within its 100 per cent-owned Gum Creek gold project in Western Australia’s Mid West. The zone was defined by reverse circulation drilling on 100m-spaced lines, with gold intersected in every hole, materially expanding the known strike length. Results support a stronger resource growth case at Howards, with implications for updated pit shells, mine scheduling and potential scale-up of processing capacity at Gum Creek.
